David Walshe Technical Director

David Walshe is Technical Director at IN2 Engineering and has overseen designs for many prestigious low-energy projects including Lyric Theatre, Belfast and Airfield Evolution, Dublin as well as various projects for Trinity College Dublin including the proposed Trinity Business and Innovation Hub.

 

David graduated from DIT Bolton St in 1994 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering. On graduating, he was employed by Roger Preston and Partners, England within their Environmental Services Department, specialising in the use of computer simulation for buildings, and was involved in such major projects as the Commerzbank Headquarters, Frankfurt and Terminal 5, Heathrow Airport. In 1995, David joined Battle McCarthy, London, with overall responsibility for Building Simulation within the Practice. He was instrumental in developing a Design Guide for Wind Towers and Scoops, in conjunction with Imperial College London. In 1997, David joined Homan O'Brien Associates as Mechanical Engineer,  bringing expertise of building simulation to the Practice.

 

David was a founding Partner of IN2 Engineering in 2002, with has overall responsibility for both Environmental and Mechanical Engineering aspects of the Practice; setting energy and sustainability targets for Projects, and ensuring that the key principles of Passive Design are integrated to the building form, particularly through the use of advanced simulation techniques to “test-drive” the building and system performance prior to construction and operation.
