Meet the IN2 Senior Management team.
Founder and Managing Director of IN2 Engineering Design Partnership Barry Flynn has built extensive industry experience over the last 25 years. Specialising in Project Management and bespoke Lighting Designs Barry possesses a robust background in all aspects Electrical Service Design, including MV and LV Power system design, switchgear, UPS, Generators, PF Correction, IT, LAN, SCADA and Emergency Systems Design.
Environmental & Sustainability Director
Founding partner of IN2 Engineering Design Partnership David Walshe is our Technical Director overseeing energy and environmental engineering aspects for all Dublin projects. With 20 years of experience David provides exceptional acumen for low energy design and building simulation. Applying his knowledge David has contributed to industry literature by publishing a Design Guide on Wind Towers, as well as contributing technical articles for Architecture Ireland.
Founding member and Projects Director Ian Carroll has been responsible for the successful delivery of numerous projects for IN2 and has extensive knowledge of all aspects of Electrical Service Design including MV and LV Power system design, switchgear, UPS, Generators, PF Correction, IT, LAN, SCADA, Emergency Systems Design, Project Management and BMS Systems. Based in Athlone Ian is responsible for a team of project engineers who manage a wide-ranging collection of ventures ensuring successful delivery for clients.
With his considerable experience in design installation and mechanical services James Redmond works as one of our Senior Mechanical Engineers. Since joining the team in 2003 James has undertaken responsibility for many of the firms largescale projects including Rathmines Square and Leisure Centre, Lyric Theatre, Hotel Europe, Park Hotel, and Farnham House Hotel.
As one of IN2’s Mechanical Project Engineers Graeme Parker has been responsible for the successful completion of many large scale projects such as Dublin Airport terminal 1 Extension. Since joining IN2 Graeme has completed his Masters in Energy Management and utilises this knowledge to provide easily operated complex mechanical solutions for his projects.
Karl Hegarty is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. With an extensive portfolio of numerous high profile projects within a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial and healthcare, Karl specialises in the design of Mechanical Engineering solutions with specific expertise in Renewable Energy and Low Energy Design. His expert technical knowledge of building services, including the overseeing of specialist ventilation systems has led to the successful delivery of some major projects.
Tim Jago has been providing his expert insights on Building Services Engineering since joining in 2003. Working as an Electrical Engineer Tim is often involved in projects from conception through to building handover in both high-end commercial projects and bespoke one-off private client housing.
Tim has experience with Hospital Design, Social Housing Design and Sports Complex Design, whilst specialising in high-end installations, IT, LAN, SCADA, Fire Alarm and Emergency Installations.
Shane joined the IN2 team in 2016 following 4 years working in New Zealand. Since then, Shane has developed many bespoke building service strategies for high-value projects across Ireland such as Hamilton Gardens, Samuel Beckett Civic Campus and St Thomas Hospital London. With his extensive experience in high-end healthcare projects, innovative commercial builds and large-scale residential developments Shane is an integral member of IN2.
Paul is a Charted Engineer and part-time lecturer at the Ulster University with extensive experience in all things electrical engineering, including a specific specialism in power distribution and lighting design.
Having worked on numerous high profile projects such as Abu Dhabi International Airport, Ballymun North Quarter and Dublin Airport, Paul incorporates his wealth of experience into all IN2 projects.
Paul currently sits on the local CIBSE committee and is a past chairperson of the Young Engineers Network.

William is a key member of IN2’s Environmental and Sustainability department. From early sketch design, Will works to integrate passive design measures into the design philosophy of each building. Specialist areas include: Dynamic Simulation (DSM); Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD); Daylight / Sunlight / Right to Light / Obtrusive Light Analysis; Part L and NZEB compliance; Building Portfolio Energy benchmarking.
William is a Chartered Engineer with over 12 years’ experience as a Building Services Engineer and is an accredited LEED AP, BREEAM AP and CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. He is currently sitting as a director on the Board of the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC).

William is a qualified BREEAM Accredited Professional, BREEAM assessor and RICS Accredited SKA Assessor with 12 years of experience working in Building Services and Sustainability consulting. He also has skills in energy strategies, building services project management, site commissioning, renewable energy assessments and sustainable design, all developed over 9 years of experience in the industry. As an experienced assessor, he has coordinated many BREEAM, CfSH, LEED, HQM and Well assessments making him incredibly well qualified in the sector.

Tim has been with IN2 since 2013 taking a leading role in marketing, bidding and business development for the company. He began his career in Dublin, working with Douglas Wallace Architects before relocating to London, where he joined StructureTone, a global main contractor. Tim headed up bidding and marketing for their London, Dublin and Asian offices. On returning to Ireland, he took up his present role with IN2 and has been instrumental in the establishment of their London office, and growth of the company over the past six years.
Business Development Manager
Lee joined IN2’s London office in 2017 in a business development role, to help build visibility & generate new business across the Group. He had previously been Business Development Director for a global fit-out contractor in London between 2014-2017 and has worked in various sales & marketing teams across the construction sector for almost 20 years, including joinery specialist, Mivan Ltd. Lee re-located back to Ireland in 2018, and continues to grow the IN2 client base in both the UK and Irish regions.
