We’ve seen a steady growth in demand for our Environmental Services over the past number of months, including Daylight, Sunlight and Wind Assessments.
There is an increased awareness of the effects that new buildings can have on localised wind conditions. With reported impacts to both existing local environment and proposed amenity spaces in Ireland, as well as the recent introduction of the new City of London Wind Microclimate Guidelines in the UK, officially regulated Wind and associated Pedestrian Comfort Analysis is now something that all International developers need to be aware of.
As you can see from the video below, we use CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to enable the graphical display of predicted wind effects, utilising coloured contours, vectors and streamlines, allowing complex airflow phenomena to be visualised and understood.
The results of the analysis may also be used to inform the landscaping strategy and the positioning of seating to amenity areas. At IN2, we have the expertise and experience to offer this kind of market leading Environmental analysis and reporting to our clients.
