STEPS Engineers Week 2023

After the success of last year, IN2 is proud to have taken part in Engineers Ireland's STEPS Engineers Week for a second time!

Throughout the week our engineers visited local schools to educate students on the importance of engineering and inspire them to consider a future in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

As an accredited CPD employer, STEPS Week is an important event for us to participate in as it offers the opportunity and support to reach out to neighbouring schools within our community and develop young people's understanding of engineering.

We are delighted that the engagement and feedback we received from the students this year has been great and we hope to be back next year.

Thank you to all the students and teachers that took part!

St Louis High School

Working within a primarily male-dominated sector, we wanted to encourage more women to think about engineering as a potential career path from an early age.

In light of International Women’s Day falling on STEPS Week, we were delighted to visit St Louis High School, an all-girls school local to our Dublin office to talk about engineering and encourage transition-year students to consider it as a potential career path.

Speaking to 108 students, BIM Manager Regina Braum and Associate Director Tim Jago helped explain what engineering is and how it can lead to many opportunities for a rewarding career!

Speaking at St Louis Community College school John helped explain to students what engineering really is, how it has many different ways it positively impacts our lives, and encourage students to begin engaging with engineering.

Athlone Community College

With 29 years of experience working as an engineer IN2 Director, Ian Carroll closed out our STEPS Week. Speaking at Athlone Community College, Co.Westmeath for the second year in a row to 24 transition-year students.

A key interest for students was the educational routes needed to become an engineer. Ian was able to chat with students about the many different avenues open to them and also highlight IN2's own 12-week summer programme 'IN2 Academy' focused open to graduate and college students.
