About the Project

Airton Road is a new-build development that when complete will span across 6 blocks ranging from 4 - 8 stories in height providing 502 new residential units. IN2 Engineering was responsible for the Daylight / Sunlight Modelling and Wind Impact Analysis for the project’s approved planning application.

Wind Impact Analysis was undertaken to predict pressures and velocities for varying wind directions across the proposed Airton Road design. Our environmental and sustainability team confirmed excessive wind effects would not be expected for the development and pedestrian comfort would be maintained for all on the site of the development.

Our Daylight / Sunlight modelling assessed the Airton Road's individual apartments to ensure residents could enjoy good levels of natural light throughout their apartment's living room and bedrooms whilst the configurations of external areas such as the courtyards were verified to receive plentiful sunlight throughout the year, enabling their usage as amenity spaces.

IN2 Engineering’s involvement ensured that best-practice environmental principles have been integrated into the design approach, with planning approved in June 2020 and construction beginning in September 2022.
