×The award-winning Rathmines Square project consisted of the development of a Major Civic & Leisure Centre. Facilities included 46 “A” Energy Rated High Spec social housing units for Dublin City Council with a swimming pool, multi-purpose hall, gymnasium and changing facilities on lower floors.
IN2 was appointed and responsible for the Environmental, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design of the project. This included an extensive airflow modelling undertaken by IN2 In-house Building Physics Team to produce an innovative pool hall ventilation system that improves comfort and eliminates condensation risks on the glazed roof elements.
Rathmines Square was an exceptional project which went on to win both Best Public Space and Best Public Building in RIAI 2011 Architectural awards, Architectural Association of Ireland (AAI) Special Award 2011, and was the winner of the British Brick Development Association International Award 2010.
